After I got my iPhone, I immediately started exploring the new and upgraded features. The first thing on my to-do list was to select a chic and unique wallpaper.
The iPhones 6s to iPhone X has a Live Photo feature, so of course, I just had to take advantage of it and add a moving lock screen wallpaper.I mean, is there anything cooler than that?
If you’re wondering how to get moving wallpapers, I got you covered. In this article, I’ll be explaining the complete step-by-step guide on how to set-up moving wallpapers for iPhone.

How To Set Up Moving Wallpaper For iPhone
Step 1: Go To ‘Settings’
Step 2: Click on ‘Wallpaper’
Step 3: Click on ‘Choose a New Wallpaper’
You will then be prompted with the current wallpapers on your iPhone for both Lock Screen and Home Screen. You can then select a wallpaper two different ways:

You will then see a screen with the built-in live/moving choices for wallpapers. Select the desired wallpaper and set it as a ‘Live Photo’.

This option will show you all of the live photos you took with your iPhone’s camera. Select the desired photo and set it as a ‘Live Photo’.
Where To Find Moving Wallpapers For Your iPhone
1. Take Your Own Live Photos
If you want a more personal set of wallpapers, simply take your own live photos! Your iPhone has the ability to take moving or live photos, which you can then set as your background.
With this feature at your disposal, you will surely have a wallpaper that is one of a kind.
You have to make sure that the ‘Live’ feature is turned on before taking a photo. In order to do so, the Live button should be highlighted like the picture below.
If you need a little help choosing a wallpaper, you can turn to apps. These apps are life-savers when you don’t feel like taking your own personal Live photo.
These apps offer thousands of beautiful and dynamic wallpapers in every category you can think of. Even better, many of these apps are free to download on the App Store.
All things considered, here are my top picks for apps that provide moving wallpapers:
- Wallpapers For Me
- Live Wallpapers & Themes
- Live Wallpapers Now
- Live Wallpaper ++
- Live Wallpapers & HD Themes
